APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS

Students and teachers from all public, private and home schools are eligible to apply for participation. Application and selection procedures make reasonable accommodations for physical disabilities and will attempt to reach economically and educationally disadvantaged groups.

Student School Year Programs

The program primarily targets students in grades 4 and 5.

Schools receive application information in February for the upcoming school year. They will be required to submit completed applications back to Starbase by May 1, 2008. A selection committee will review the applications and make appropriate selections in May. Schools/teachers will be notified of their status by the end of May.

Starbase Vermont Forms and Applications

Please submit a separate application for each class applying.  Please use Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.0, or higher, to read and print all the following applications and forms. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, a free download of Adobe Acrobat Reader is available from the link below.

Class Application Form - This form must be completed and approved by the Principal or Assistant Principal, for each Starbase school year class. After a class has been accepted into the Starbase program the teacher must complete a Demographics Survey, a Class List Form and have a completed Student Application Form for each participant.  

Deadline for Class Applications is May 1, 2008

Guard Summer Application Form - This two page form, including health information and release, must be completed for all Starbase summer program applicants prior to acceptance. Space is limited to dependent children of Vermont National Guard personnel (military or civilian) who are entering the sixth grade in the fall of 2008. To apply, select the Starbase Guard Camp site your dependent with be applying for (Burlington or Rutland) and mail the application to the address above. Applicants will be notified of their status in early June.
